Treatments

Currently there are no treatments available for Bethlem Myopathy except for Physical Therapy.

Doctors are looking at the drug Omigapil for clinical trials. It was announced at the CureCMD conference that Omigapil might start clinical trials mid 2011.

The drug ACE-031 was also discussed and is in clinical trials for other types of MD in Canada.  There is a possibility that this drug might be useful for Collagen 6 Muscular Dystrophies.
